Josh
Dr. Joshua (Josh) Englefield is a Licensed Independent Social Worker with Supervision designation (LISW-S) who believes every person has strengths that can be built upon, even during life's most difficult seasons. His goal is to help clients recognize those strengths, overcome obstacles, and create meaningful, lasting change.
Josh works with children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families facing a wide range of challenges, including anxiety, depression, relationship concerns, anger, life transitions, family conflict, and difficulties related to school or work. He understands that every person's story is unique and believes therapy should be tailored to each individual's goals, values, and experiences.
Rooted in the social work principles of empowerment, dignity, and respect, he believes healing happens when clients feel understood, supported, and equipped to build on the strengths they already possess.
Josh integrates evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, Couples and Family Systems Therapy, and Anger Management techniques. For clients who desire it, he is also happy to incorporate faith and spirituality into the counseling process, recognizing the important role they can play in healing and personal growth.
Josh earned his Master of Science in Social Administration from Case Western Reserve University and his Doctorate in Social Work (DSW) from the University of St. Thomas. His research interests include compassion, advocacy for marginalized communities, and empowering individuals to find their voice.
Clients often describe Josh as compassionate, thoughtful, and encouraging. He strives to create a welcoming environment where clients feel respected, challenged, and supported as they work toward their goals.
Outside of the office, Josh enjoys spending time with his family and values caring for the whole person—body, mind, and spirit. He enjoys intellectual pursuits, serving others, and practicing his faith with his family.
Whether you're facing a difficult season, strengthening relationships, or working toward personal growth, Josh would be honored to partner with you on your journey toward healing and hope.
